“Soul Jazz Records subsiduary electronic label Microsolutions to Megaproblems celebrates two years of releases with this new album. Microsolutions to Megaproblems brings together many of the finest experimental electronic artists working in their respective fields today – whether it be electronica, avant hip-hop, twisted disco, deep jazz and more. This album features tracks from all the earlier 12” releases plus unique exclusives for this album. Established electronic-pioneers such as Kit Clayton, Kid 606 and Sutekh are present alongside West-coast left-field hip-hop/beat-heads Daedelus and AmmonContact. From the UK, underground remixer to the stars Radio Slave, A/K/A Rekid (Kylie Minogue, Paul McCartney!), tech-disco artist Secondo (with a unique to this album acid mix), A. Greenman are featured alongside exclusive new music from Tim Exile. The album also features deep electronic left-field jazz remixes from pioneers Hu Vibrational and Chicago’s finest, Telefon Tel Aviv. Most of the artists on this album not only have recorded earlier material for other labels, many in fact run their own labels. They include Kit Clayton who owns and runs Orthlorng Musork, Kid 606 who runs Tigerbeat 6, Sutekh with Context, Secondo with Dreck, Hu Vibrational with Metamusic, and so on. Between them they have recorded with labels as diverse as Force Inc, Moving Shadow, Hefty, Ninja, Planet Mu, Classic and many more. Microsolutions to Megaproblems and Soul Jazz Records have been cataloguing the expansion of this new type of electronic artist who remain in control of their music and are happy to defy traditional concepts moving in and out of musical styles whilst still remaining “electronic”. This is the first CD/LP to be released on Microsolutions to Megaproblems.”
